As the Winter Olympics capture hearts across the country, our residents at Park View Care Home have been embracing the spirit of Team GB in their own way, by channeling their inner curlers!
Inspired by the incredible performances of our British athletes, we transformed our communal space into a mini curling arena. With plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and a few surprisingly accurate “stone” deliveries, the atmosphere was nothing short of electric.
Channeling Our Inner Team GB
Curling may look simple on television, but it quickly became clear that it requires precision, patience, and teamwork — qualities our residents demonstrated brilliantly.
There were cheers for well-placed shots, playful debates over scoring, and plenty of encouragement from spectators. For many, it sparked memories of watching past Olympic Games and following Team GB’s achievements over the years.
A Little Healthy Competition
By the end of the session, rivalries had formed, champions had emerged, and a few residents were already asking when the rematch would be.
Moments like these remind us just how much personality, humour, and spirit fill our home every day. The Winter Olympics may be taking place on the world stage, but the competitive energy at Park View certainly matched it.
Bringing the World to Park View
One of the things we love most about themed activities is how they connect our residents to the wider world. The Winter Olympics may be happening on a global stage, but the excitement can be felt right here at Park View.
And who knows, if Team GB ever needs a few extra curlers, we may have some hidden talent ready to step up!
